Despite a few minor flaws (Watson does go on a bit nostalgically...), this is easily the best Holmes continuation novel ever written. The plot is a little more mature and serious than Conan Doyle might've gone into in his day - but that doesn't mean it doesn't feel like he wrote it. Everything is in its right place and it never feels like overkill. Horowitz does a great job of nailing every beat and keeping you entertained. I can't even express the joy of reading a truly new Sherlock Holmes adventure - one that feels like it just dropped out of a timewarp or was unearthed from a vault after all these many years.More positive thoughts at Raging Biblioholism: http://wp.me/pGVzJ-kH
