The Age of Miracles

The Age of Miracles - Karen Thompson Walker A beautiful and haunting story - told in the Bradburyian style. A young girl comes of age in a time of great crisis: the Earth's rotation is slowing down. And as the world tries to adapt to this new (and ever-changing) reality, she tries to adapt to the ever-changing reality of being a teenager. It's a viable apocalypse too and that makes it land even stronger. I really truly thought the book to be beautiful - even more so for its brevity and honest prose. If you're truly scared about the end of the world (i.e. Melancholia freaked you out) then you might want to steer clear. But if you want to dabble in the genre that is widely becoming popular these days (end of the world stories, I mean), this is where you want to go. No reservations: this is the one.More about it at RB: http://wp.me/pGVzJ-qP
