The Round House

The Round House - Louise Erdrich Just solidly meh. As much as I really enjoyed the last 50 or so pages - and while there were certainly interesting things happening, philosophically and socially, in the rest of the book - I just found myself thinking "I've seen this before" for most of the novel. It doesn't say anything new, nor does it have anything especially dynamic re: the writing or the sociological background to make me say "ooh, yes, read this!" Is it a fine novel? Sure. Is it anything more than that? Nope.Quite a bit more, deconstructing this middle-ground, at RB: http://wp.me/pGVzJ-Ej
