A handful of the stories pull down the cumulative weight of the entire collection - but man, stories like "The Small Assassin" and "The Crowd" and "Jack-in-the-Box" and "The Wind" are creepy and definitely unsettling in just the right way. It's the classic October author's classic story collection. I prefer From The Dust Returned myself but for those without the creepy family and the creepy Victorian and the true obsession with the scary and autumnal, this is a good place to go when even the most jaded of us can't help but smile at the changing leaves and the hint of the eerie on the wind....more at RB: http://wp.me/pGVzJ-is
