Raging Biblioholism

The Family Fang

The Family Fang - Kevin Wilson Another excellent Biblioracle recommendation. A quirky family, a light tone that gets serious without you ever even noticing it, a fun construction within the novel, and a distinct reminder of why it is that I read. I laughed, I gasped, I even teared up a little. It's the sort of book you want to read in November, when you're thinking about Thanksgiving and getting warm inside. Unless you don't like your family, in which case... I have nothing for you.Seriously, though, this was a delightful book. It's a little "Royal Tenenbaum"ish at times, but only in the vaguest sense - the sense that you feel as though the Fangs and the Tenenbaums are kindred spirits. They're families who probably would've liked each other's work and exist in the same fictional universe (in the same way that, say, Stephen King's books all exist in the same universe). Worth your time as the year winds down.More thoughts: http://wp.me/pGVzJ-iI
